Mona Lisa

My 2012 headcannon redesign of Mona Lisa from TMNT.

Gosh guys. Mona lisa. This girl. This girl and I have a tight relationship. It was wild.
I could ramble for like ages about Mona Lisa dude. I'll try to keep it short.

I hated her, at first. For a long time. Like when I first saw her, I really thought she was a fan character. But I started seeing her more and more and from different artists. So I googled her, and saw that she was a cannon character from the 87 series. And I hated her. I just did. From the look on her face. And her character design I just hated her.

I dropped it there and was just content with my hatred like I currently am with Venus de Milo (may she rott in hell)

But then I watched her episode. Curiousity got the best of me and I watched the episode. And I adored her.
Her backstory was interesting and kinda heart wrenching, when you read into it. She had a killer personality. She was all around badass, and she proved me wrong. I judged the book by the cover and was proven wrong. I am so glad too. Because she is just adorable and spunky and brilliant and I love her. She has such an honesty and lightness about her than just grabbed my heartstrings and wont let go.

The thing that really sunk me on her though, is the way she interacts with Raphael. For those who havent seen her episode (go watch it!) Raph leaves the other turtles to go to a costume party on a yatch that he won the ticket to in a raffle. Mona Lisa confronts him outside the boat and acts as if they are dating and uses him to sneak onto the boat without a ticket. All the while leaving Raph just completely dumbstruck like trying to register whats going on. When he finnally manages to speak to her, shes gone. She dissapeared into the crowd. Raphael forgets everything he was bragging about to his brothers before, just drops everything, and spends the entire time at the yatch party looking for her. Because he doesnt know her name.

now I dont know about you folks. But that hits my heart <3
If thats not love I dont know what is. Of course he finds her and they talk and bad guy shows up and they fight and the whole shabang. yknow. good episode. go watch it.

The part that really hooked me on their relationship though, and really made me a heavy shipper, is at one point in the episode, Mona and Raph are hiding from the baddies in a side boat, life boat, tarp covered, thingy. And they actually get to talk for a few minutes. Just them. And they really connect. At this point, Raph is just infatuated with this girl. Hed been chasing her all night, hed been trying to get her attention, and all this villian shit goes down, he finnally gets a moment with her. And she tells him her name. And her story.

Mona Lisa was human first, everyone knows that right? She was a young adult in college and she got kidnapped by some crazy mad scientist (the villian in the episode) and one thing led to another, shes a lizard. Well, when she realizes that Raphael isnt some guy in a turtle costume. She realizes that he is one of the infamous ninja turtles that are all over the news (at this point in the show they are like famous or whatever) She just freaks out. Like but in a cute honest kinda way. Like, shes like, like, Oh my god. Oh my god you are one of the ninja turtles arent you? I-Ive been looking for you guys. I think Im like you... And Raph's like Oh god, your a mutant too. (cause thats not apparent) hes like, hes like, dude. real talk here. We can help you. and just oh my god guys, just the way he looks at her right then. mmm. just that silent moment when she finnally finds him to save her and he finnally catches this mysterious girl and just the connection between them just. thats love. thats just. i could almost hear their hearts beating. (bear in mind im totally reading WAY into this)

Well heres what happens guys. Heres what happens. The others show up and the five of them take down the bad guy and save the yatch party and all that shiz right? And the evil scientist goes to jail and Mona's just like no. Im going to go blow up his submarine. See ya. jumps off the side of the boat. Raph tries to go after her, like Leo or someone fugging stops him. And they just leave. Theyre like eh shell be fine And go fugging home right? Well they're walking in the sewers and Mikeys all joking around you know? Theyre all laughing about their victory and shit. But Raph's like. Raph's like mega bummed out. Yeah? So Mikeys like dude why the long face? we won. right? And Raphs just like completely like dead honest just like dude. She's gone. Mona is fucking gone and I dont know what happened to her. I may never see her again. right? and his voice right there. oh my god. his voice just fucking killed me.

Well, this is the part that really just cherry on the sundae right here. When he gets home shes there. Shes in the lair and shes fine and she's like hey guys I got pizza. (like how the hell did she beat them home????? dont ask) but heres the thing Raph, just the way his face just lights up... "MONA!!!" he yells and runs to her and just huggs her and spins her around just how fucking happy he is. Just how sencerely honestly happy she made him, just by being alive. Just being there. That. That is why I love Mona Lisa.

So yeah I lied it wasnt short but im also half asleep so its full of slang and stuff im just writting whatever comes to mind, no time for any filters hahahaha

So yeah go watch that. Mona Lisa is friggin badass.
